Lately I have been spending some time with my 4-yr-old grandson and his 2-1/2-yr-old sister, making pictures from construction paper. I did a simple Google search for “construction paper crafts for kids” for ideas. First, we did the tractor pictures, because my grandson loves the tractors from the Disney Pixar Cars movie. Then we did the “minions” (from Despicable Me), which really appealed to both the kids. Most recently, we did the penguins. Grandma cuts out the shapes from the construction paper, then the kids use gluestick to put the shapes together. Finally, the kids put the finishing touches with pencil. When the picture is done, we talk about the shapes and colors that were used to make the pictures. The kids enjoy being creative, and Grandma enjoys their company.
Pictured is a photoshop collage of their creations, a virtual wall. The actual artwork is proudly displayed on the wall in the entryway of our home for all to enjoy.
