Across the Universe

One summer day we attended an art exhibit at the museum in Fort Worth, Texas. I was fascinated by one entry which was a lighted door. This door is featured in two of today’s designs as a doorway to the universe, if you will. I had recently rediscovered the Beatles’ song, Across the Universe. The haunting melody became a recurring theme in my head that I just had to work with. This was another situation where I designed more than one and then couldn’t decide which one I personally like better. So I kept them both, and share them here now. The blue design  represents the recurring line of the chorus which to me expresses a steadfastness, a kind of reassurance that my world is exactly as it should be.
Following are the lyrics in full:

Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind
Possessing and caressing me
Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes
They call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box
They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Sounds of laughter shades of life are ringing
Through my open ears inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns
And calls me on and on across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Jai guru deva
