In the Secret, In the Quiet Place

In the SecretIn the neighborhood was a park. Part of a park, really, it was a section of the city’s beautification effort. There was a bike and running trail, swings for the children, benches and a water fountain. Here in the middle of this was this pond. On this day, lounging near the island, was a beautiful long-legged crane. My pictures of the moment all turned out blurry. But I did want to commemorate the moment. So, I finally settled on a watercolor treatment. I think that the design does represent that secret, quiet place you can go to, to reflect and recharge.I like how the bird is reflected in the water, even though I think unless you know that’s a bird, you don’t know it’s a bird.
All in all rather remarkable to find such a beautiful, seemingly isolated spot in the middle off a city park. Perhaps the beautification project was more successful than first thought.
